ST, 16th January 1896 - At Nowra Police Court, C. James and 11 others are charged with riotous behaviour in a public place at Yalwal, on New Years Eve. The summons is proved faulty and the case is dismissed.

ST, 28th November 1894 - The tailings from Underwood and Johnson’s crushing show 97 oz. to the ton by Mint assay. It is said they were bought out by the Fletchers for L33.
ST, 5th December 1894 - Underwood and Johnson receive 10s per ounce (Mint value) better than any gold yet sent from Yalwal. A clean up from 20 tons yielded 225 oz. of retort gold.

ST, 11th December 1895 - Messrs. Fimister and Johnson, of Nowra, who have made a good thing of mining at Yalwal, accompanied R.T. Thorburn on an inspection of a sluicing property on the Shoalhaven, with a view to taking an interest.
ST, 1st February 1896 - Messrs. T.R. Peak, W.J. Fimister and R. Johnson jumped the Golden Quarry mine, yesterday at 3.10 a.m. A description of the race between Peak and party, and W. and D. M’Lean and Hardy to be the first to the mine.
7th July 1896 - R. Johnson made a purchase from Yalwal General Store. (Shoalhaven Museum Yalwal General Store Ledger S 1251)
ST, 30th January 1897 - Robert Johnson pleaded guilty to having “worshipped at the shrine of Bacchus ‘not wisely, but too well’”. Also charged with obscene language. A fine of 10s or three days was imposed.

10th August 1887 - William Johnson, aged 38 a miner of Yalwal, married Charlotte Green, aged 22 of Burrier, in the Nowra School Church. William was born in Sydney and his parents are listed as _____ Johnson (Late Sailmaker) and Mary Thurgate. Charlotte was born at Burrier and her parents were George Green (farmer) nad Ann Wilkinson. The ceremony was performed by Joseph Best and witnessed by Edward Fletcher and John Green.
