ST, 28th December 1887 - Galbraith v. Heron court case. Galbraith deposes that he had cashed a cheque for Adams.
ST, 18th January 1888 - James Adams v. F. Broers for recovery of L8 17s. 6d. Verdict for amount and costs.
ST, 26th January 1888 - James Adams lodges an application for a conditional license for a house at Yalwal before the Licensing Bench in Nowra. After objections from the Police and several of the principal residents of Yalwal he withdrew his application “for the present.”

ST, 30th May 1888 - James Adams gives evidence in Paull v. Maclean. Whilst Paull was employed by another company he was also acting on behalf of Maclean at the Caledonian Mine & the Hit or Miss Claim. He prospected them, hired men, has stone assayed, etc. Paull stops at Adams’ house.

ST, 20th March 1889 - Pinncale Case. James Adams, Thomas heron, John Minnikin, Matthew Herle, Isaac Samuel McMahon, Henry Smith, Thomas Kells, Henry Ison, William Markham & Frederick Wilson are charged with unlawfully obstructing Reynolds when he tried to enter the Pinnacle Mine. The Bench decided that it was a matter for the Mining Warden and the case was dismissed.
ST, 27th March 1889 - The Supreme Court calls on the Nowra Bench to show cause why a writ of mandamus should not be issued, compelling them to hear the Pinnacle case.
ST, 10th April 1889 - Warden’s Court: James Adams and A. Linkenbagh had taken up lease portion 12 Np. 102, two years ago on behalf of the Pioneer Company. He sold his interest to H.R. Hodgkinson.

ST, 11th December 1889 - Mining Court: Mention is made of Reynolds v. Adams where a bailiff levied on Adams’ furiture at Yalwal. Paull claimed the property was his in lieu of L75 he had advanced to Adams. Paull lost his case.

ST, 26th February 1890 - Golden Crown Mine: “James Adams & party, who had applied for a lease of the ground, and who were working it under the impression that it open to be taken up.” To gain possession Capt. Reynolds had to take out an ejectment order.

Shoalhaven News, 24th June 1893 - Homeward Bound dispute: J.P. Allen’s evidence is not taken as it is stated he “was locked up - not behind the Court-house, but at O’Connell’s Hotel. He understood that Allen was a voluntary prisoner, that he was willingly locked up. It is suggested that he received L50 to stay away from the Court. “There’s a traitor in the camp. Allen did not turn up here to-day to give evidence.”
