The Moreton Bay Courier, 23rd February 1860 :

 

“Captain Keft, of Kiama, reports that on the passage from Merimbula, off Cape George, the wreck of a vessel, of about 500 tons was seen floating. All her bulwarks had been washed away, and the stem and stern post were only visible above the water. The name could not be made out. A large quantity of wreck and furniture was also seen floating about.”
