The Brisbane Courier, 28th December 1889 :

 

“The schooner Scotia, one of the oldest traders on the coast, was wrecked at the Blow Hole, Kiama, on Thursday night. All hands were saved.”

“A telegram received this morning stated that the schooner Scotia went ashore at the Blowhole Point, Kiama, last night, and became a total wreck, but all hands were saved. The Scotia was one of the oldest traders on the coast, having been built in 1840. She belong to Mr. F. W. Robertson, of Sydney, and was uninsured.”

“The Post and Telegraph Department advise as follows : - ‘Kiama reports, schooner Scotia got on shore at Blowhole Point at 10.30 last night (26th), and became a total wreck. All hands were saved.’”

 

The Brisbane Courier, 21st January 1890 :

 

“The Marine Board to-day found that the schooner Scotia, which was recently wrecked near Kiama, went ashore in consequence of her anchor dragging and that the master was not to blame.”
