PENRITH.

“POLICE OFFICE, TUESDAY, APRIL 29. - Before Messrs. Lethbridge, Clark, and Single. The annual licensing meeting having been adjourned to this day, the applications of following persons for publicans’ general licenses were granted, viz. : - John Anderson, Star Inn, Penrith; John Perry, Rose Inn, Penrith; Catherine Harrisson, Harp of Erin, Penrith; John Harris, Travellers’ Arms, Nepean, Castlereagh; Ralph Jackson Cross, Farmers’ Arms, Nepean, Castlereagh; Henry Wall, Emu Inn, Emu Plains, Robert Beatson, Australian Arms, Emu Plains; Thomas Boland, Springwood Inn, Springwood; Joseph James, Woolpack Inn, Bathurst Road; Henry Wilson, Blue Mountain Inn, Bathurst Road; James Landers, Oddfellows’ Arms, St. Mary’s, South Creek; John Whitford, Fitz Roy Arms, St. Mary’s, South Creek; Thomas Smith, Red Cow Inn, Rope’s Creek; John Booth, Bell and Crown Inn, Eastern Creek; the application of William Bartram, for a publicans’ general license, to be attached to a house on Lapstone Hill, stands adjourned to this day fortnight, to enable him to get the necessary accommodation complete. The application of Thomas James, of the King’s Arms, Bathurst Road, stands adjourned for the above time, to enable the Bench to enquire into a charge laid against him for serving an escort of prisoners with liquor, two of said prisoners having made their escape; the case occurred a few days ago, the correct particulars we are not as yet in possession of. The application of Peter Royal, of St. Mary’s, South Creek, for a confectioner’s license was granted.”
