The following report was transcribed from The Brisbane Courier, 26th November 1892 :
A telegram received from pilot Bishop at Crookhaven Heads states that the steamer marvel foundered last night in the Shoalhaven Bight. All hands were saved. The Marvel is a wooden steamer of 71 tons gross and 49 tons net register. She is owned by Mr. George Dent, sen., of Sydney, and was built at Jervis Bay in 1891.”
