The Brisbane Courier, 20th September 1889 :

“The ketch Ino was totally wrecked at Kiama on Wednesday night.”

“The ketch Ino was totally wrecked while attempting to enter the Robertson Basin at Kiama, for shelter, late last night. She struck the rocks about 200 yards east of the breakwater. The captain and crew reached the shore in a small boat after remaining by the vessel for some hours. The Ino was bound from Wollongong to to Moruya, with 60 tons of coal. She belonged to Mr. Joseph Banister, of Sydney, and was insured for L400. The wind was blowing strong from south-south-west at the time.”
