The Maitland Mercury and Hunter River General Advertiser, 7th June 1851 :

 

“TWO COASTERS LOST. - On the 15th ult., the Amphitrite, schooner, was driven ashore at Shell Harbour and totally wrecked; crew saved. Same day, the Currency Lass, cutter, was driven ashore on the Ulladulla Beach, and became a total wreck; crew saved. The Amphitrite was the property of Mr. William Baxter, and the Currency Lass was owned by Mr. W. Ringland.”
