“The above map of part of the county of St. Vincent, on the south coast of New South Wales, shows the position of the new Clyde River Gold Field. The two allotments shaded on the map and marked with a star form Mr. M’Mahon’s estate, on which the gold was found. It will be apparent that it lies on the left bank of the Clyde River and on both sides of Brooman Creek. It abuts on unoccupied Crown lands on the east and west, and in the former direction the country is open almost to the pacific. There is open ground also at no great distance in every direction.....”
